Margarita Monday, Part Cuatro…Again

0

I know I shared this margarita before on a certain [ahem, birth-] day a few months ago, but I thought it was fitting to share again, since this delicious margarita was a tasty part of Birthday Trip #2! Salute!
😉

The Epicurious Texan

I wasn’t actually planning on Margarita Monday to be a regular thing, but I figured what the heck–who doesn’t like margaritas?!?!?  Also, if you’d like a picture of your tasty margarita to appear here for Margarita Mondays, please tweet it to me @epicurioustexan!

In honor of today’s Big Birthday: Not 40, Just Fabulous, I thought it appropriate to honor this Margarita Monday with my cranberry margarita from Chevy’s during my Birthday Trip #2 (because when you’re turning Not 40, Just Fabulous, you get multiple birthday trips!).

Yes, that is a jalapeño floating in that there margarita.  It is, in fact, a jalapeño margarita.  I will confess that it wasn’t MY jalapeño margarita, rather it belonged to TK.  I had, if you will remember the original Margarita Monday, the blood orange margarita.  While the jalapeño margarita was definitely a novelty and very tasty, personally I preferred the blood orange.

We were at Antojito’s.  It’s the restaurant where we decided to eat after departing Universal Studios.

Naturally, we had the table side guacamole because why wouldn’t you?  It’s amazing and goes well with margaritas.  The best part of getting table side guacamole with friends from home is that we can order it spicy, unlike here where I have to settle for medium and watch my NYC friends whimpily whine about how “hot” it is.  My reply to them is always:  oh shush & have another margarita!

mmmmm….a another margarita sounds like a great plan!  Salud!

I recently went to DC & VA for our annual Girls’ Weekend.  This year it was held in honor of James’s big birthday.  I won’t say how old she is **cough 40 cough** I will only comment that a few margaritas were consumed.

This one is a blood orange margarita from Chuy’s Restaurant in Richmond.

Happy Birthday James!!  Actually, Happy Birthday to all my February babies–oh, and also OOOOOPS–to my January babies too since you didn’t get a shout out last month!

This tasty little baby was from The Smallest Bar in Key West, which is only 72 square feet!

A Hurricane, A Margarita, and A Rum Runner (Thirsty Thursday #8)

0

In trying to find pictures for Throwback Thursday, I realized I have a lot of pictures of adult beverages (that is said with pride, by the way). As such, I’ve decided rather than share pictures of me with bad 80s hair and glasses that legitimately covered half my face, I could easily share glasses of a much tastier kind.

As many of you know, I’ve been off gallivanting all over the country to celebrate my birthday, Fabulous Not Forty! I kicked things off in Tampa, Florida, which included a weekend trip to Key West! Apparently the first thing one is to do when in Key West is stop by Fat Tuesday for a drink. Who am I to deny tradition?

Here we are with our hurricane, margarita, and rum runner! Cheers!

if you're going to have a margarita, it might as well come in a cactus stemmed glass!

Margarita Monday, Part Dos

I wasn’t actually planning on Margarita Monday to be a thing, but last week’s post was rather popular.  I figured what the heck, let’s try this again.  NOTE: Don’t get too excited, because (oddly enough), I don’t have many pictures of margaritas (although I am happy to start a “Send Your Margarita Pictures” photo drive, if you’d like!).

I drink them, I promise–sometimes in copious amounts and therein might be the problem.  They’re just so darn tasty and easy to drink, like this one–which is a prickly pear margarita from Bejas in Fredericksburg, Texas (hometown, for all you newbies out there!)–that they tend to be gone before I even think to snap a pic!  Although this one’s bright red color made it impossible to ignore–and the perfect balance of sweet and citrus made it deeeee-licious! Salud!

Home Sweet Home

Slight error in judgement.  I know, I know…it rarely happens 😉  so when it does, it is the job of the BFF to, of course, call me on it.

Remember yesterday’s post about the ABCs of Shez?  Well, if you read it and then all the comments you would have seen my egregious error, which is that T is always for Texas (that is a direct quote from the niece).  Now, I know that you know that I know that you know that I know that T is always for Texas, so I thought it okay to list something else for T–silly, silly Shez.  Obviously too much beer (or perhaps not enough beer?).  Regardless, my other family (aka BFF’s family) decided to help “remind” me of my roots and the error of my ways and came up with their own ABCs–all about TEXAS!  It is just too fabulous to leave in the comment section where you may or may not ever see it.

So grab your beer and enjoy 🙂

Margarita Monday

Hi from Florida. Things here have been great!

Of course if you follow me on FB, you know all the fun (aka imbibing) that has been happening over the last few days.

In that spirit (pun intended!), I decided to put down my drink (momentarily–don’t panic!) to show you this amazing blood orange margarita I just had with dinner at Antojitos in Orlando. It was so fresh and vibrant–it tasted like summer would last forever.

My only problem? It went down waaaay too easily! Another one? I think perhaps maybe….Salud!
